English Demonstration Lesson
In order to improve teachers' English teaching ability, let them accurately grasp the teaching direction under the guidance of the new curriculum standards, and build an efficient English classroom teaching atmosphere featuring fostering virtue through education, in the second class on the afternoon of 26th November, teacher Wu Baiyu from the English group of the Senior High School Division displayed a demonstration lesson in Class 3, Grade 10, which was attended by Director Wang Yinchai of the International Department and all teachers of the English Teaching and Research Group.
To start with, the topic of this lesson is 'Paper Cutting'. Wu Baiyu chose the folk art theme of 'paper-cutting' and adopted the methods of 'problem-leading', 'task driven' and 'cooperative learning' in terms of history, style and implication to help students extract key and effective information, thus promoting their understanding and memory. On the other hand, students felt the charm of Chinese culture through learning paper-cutting culture, who planted the seeds of inheritors of traditional Chinese culture in their hearts. What's more, in this English class, Wu Baiyu created a comprehensive language application context for the students, fully mobilizing and stimulating their passion for learning.
In conclusion, teaching and research activities are not only the steps to enhance teaching quality, but also an important way for teachers to learn and develop professionally. More remarkably, in the future education and teaching, the English group of the Senior High School Division will continue to promote teaching with teaching and research, so that teachers can benefit more from learning and grow up in practice to deeply cultivate English classroom teaching and forge ahead with firm steps.
